Satisfying Conclusion That Could’ve Been Tighter
IMDb rating: 7/10
A solid finale that ties everything together, though it doesn’t quite match Ep 5’s momentum.
The payoffs are satisfying and the performances remain excellent – Oldman and Lowden deliver particularly strong work – but the pacing drags in parts where tighter editing would have helped.
The episode delivers on emotional beats and action, maintaining the show’s commitment to moral complexity. Nothing feels unresolved, which is commendable. However, after the previous episode’s relentless drive, this feels somewhat anticlimactic in stretches.
At 7.5/10, it’s still quality television that respects its audience and honors the season’s setup. The conclusion works and leaves characters in compelling places for future seasons. Just wish it had been trimmed by about ten minutes to maintain the thriller pace the penultimate episode established so brilliantly.
