I fired up Trap House half-distracted on my phone, fully braced for a daft B-movie time-waster… and that’s precisely what I got, a middling 5/10 that ticks the “kill 100 minutes” box without offending too much.
Dave Bautista lumbers through as the grizzled DEA dad with his usual dependable grunt, propping up a script that’s frankly bonkers and not in a clever way – believability takes a proper holiday here.
The young cast is a mixed bag: some spark with cheeky teen energy, others deliver lines like they’re reading the phone book. It chugs along with decent action bursts and family squabbles, but the patchy acting and eye-rolling plot holes keep it firmly in “background fodder” territory.
Expectations low? You’ll survive it unscathed. Fancy undemanding cartel caper nonsense? Give it a whirl – won’t change your life, mind.
