Sore: A Wife from the Future (2025)

A genuinely charming piece of Indonesian cinema that marks a surprisingly sophisticated debut for me.

The premise, revolving around a spouse from the future, is wonderfully conceived, leading to genuinely excellent acting from the leads and some truly delightful romantic moments. The visual execution is stunning; the cinematography and production values are, frankly, world-class.

While the script is largely well-written, occasional plot holes and perhaps the slight weakness of the dubbed dialogue prevented total immersion. A tighter editorial hand, shaving twenty minutes from the runtime, would have delivered a much sharper experience.

Nevertheless, it is a deeply moving and handsome film. A balanced 6.5/10.
