I should have trusted my gut in the first 20 min and quit.
Die, My Love is marketed (and reviewed by some) as a bold look at postpartum depression, but in reality, it’s a pretentious, aimless waste of time. I kept waiting for a plot to emerge, but instead, I got two hours of Jennifer Lawrence wandering through woods and staring blankly at her life, while flashing her tits and butt every 15 min.
The film is visually appealing, but that’s just a distraction from the fact that nothing actually happens. It’s challenging, sure… challenging to stay awake. Maybe this “art” works for people who enjoy suffering through plotless metaphors, but for me, it was 2.5/10 rubbish.
Life is too short for movies that refuse to tell a story beyond a one liner.
