Knives Out (2019)

This is Agatha Christie relocated to modern America, complete with a Southern detective who chews through scenes like he owns them.

Daniel Craig nails the accent and brings real presence, while Ana de Armas anchors everything… you genuinely care about her, which is crucial. Chris Evans makes his limited screen time count, playing against type effectively. Jamie Lee Curtis feels underused, though, a shame given her talent.

If you’ve devoured classic whodunits, you’ll spot the framework and maybe predict some turns. Newcomers to the genre might be blown away or left cold depending on taste. Either way, it’s solidly crafted entertainment with sharp dialogue and a twisty structure.

Not groundbreaking for genre veterans, but executed with style and confidence. Worth your time if murder mysteries are your thing.
