A solid SpongeBob adventure that delivers exactly what kids want… silly humour, colorful animation, and a heartwarming message. My 11-year-old enjoyed it, though I suspect the 5-10 age group will absolutely love it.
The film beautifully teaches what true bravery means while celebrating optimism, kindness, and creativity as superpowers. Mark Hamill’s voice work is fantastic, and the animation is consistently good throughout – it doesn’t need to be groundbreaking to work.
My main complaint is the live-action finale sequence, which feels average and unnecessary compared to the strong animated sequences that precede it. The humour leans heavily on toilet jokes, but that’s SpongeBob’s brand.
It’s not reinventing the wheel, but it’s a genuinely enjoyable family film that understands its audience perfectly.
