War 2 is a disappointing addition to the YRF Spy Universe… a film that feels like a forced, overstuffed sequel rather than a natural progression.

Clocking in at nearly three hours, the movie dragged on with repetitive action sequences, a predictable plot, and excessive climax scenes every 10 minutes, as if the filmmakers were trying to compensate for a lack of substance with sheer spectacle.

Hrithik Roshan’s charisma and action prowess are the only saving graces, but even his performance can’t salvage the weak script and over-the-top Telugu/Tamil-style theatrics. NTR Jr. Brings energy but feels misplaced in the YRF universe, and Kiara Advani’s role is underwritten and forgettable. The film’s attempt to blend RAW espionage with South Indian masala results in a messy, tonally inconsistent experience.

The YRF Spy Universe peaked with Tiger Zinda Hai and has been declining ever since. War was good, but War 2 feels like a cash grab, lacking the tight storytelling and emotional depth of its predecessors. If this is the future of the franchise, YRF should kill the spy universe now – it’s better to end on a high note after Tiger 3, than to drag it out with half-baked scripts and forced entries.

5/10: watchable, but nowhere near the quality of the earlier films.
