Blimey, Bullet Train is a right stylish romp – 7.5/10 for me, and it properly delivers on the fun front.

Brad Pitt’s unlucky Ladybug is a joy, all deadpan charm and pratfalls, while the ensemble (especially Brian Tyree Henry and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the bickering brothers) crackles with banter that’s sharp as a katana.

David Leitch keeps the whole thing zipping along like the Shinkansen itself: neon-drenched, kinetic action sequences, inventive kills, and that gloriously confined train setting make every punch, quip, and twist feel electric.

The dark humour lands brilliantly – witty, absurd, and delightfully twisted – and I was still chuckling right through to the end, even if some might find it starts repeating itself after the hour mark.

The plot’s admittedly thin, more a string of escalating chaos than a deep mystery, but who cares when the style, direction, and sheer entertainment value are this high?

7.5/10: Proper popcorn escapism with a wicked grin.
