Eko caught me off guard in the best way.
I went in completely blind, with no expectations, and the film slowly pulled me into its quiet, unsettling mystery. It resists easy answers, letting mood and behaviour do most of the work, and that restraint really pays off. The tension holds steadily, without cheap scares or over-explaining what’s going on.
The final act is where Eko truly lands its punch. The twist arrives suddenly and unexpectedly, forcing you to reassess much of what you’ve been watching.
Performances across the board are solid and understated, fitting the film’s grounded tone even if no single role dominates.
The film isn’t airtight – the middle section wanders at times, and a few narrative threads feel undercooked or loosely resolved. A tighter screenplay could have sharpened the overall impact.
Still, Eko succeeds as an atmospheric, engaging slow-burn mystery that rewards patience.
An unexpected and satisfying 7/10.
