I’ll admit, the title initially had me expecting a drama about an Olympic runner, and I was briefly disappointed. However, I was quickly hooked by this far more eccentric, heartwarming reality. The World’s Fastest Indian is a touching 7.5/10 triumph that proves high-octane dreams aren’t just for the young.

Anthony Hopkins owns the role of Burt Munro; despite a wandering New Zealand accent, he delivers one of the most endearing portrayals of his career.

Achieving so much on a modest budget, the film transforms a niche mechanical obsession into a universal tale of perseverance and aging. It’s a beautifully shot road movie that celebrates “number 8 wire” ingenuity and the kindness of strangers.

A truly engaging, soul-stirring underdog classic.
