Bholaa had all the ingredients for a solid thriller but falls into the classic Bollywood trap of doing too many things poorly instead of one thing well.
The core story idea is excellent – a simple, desperate journey with real stakes. But then comes the typical Bollywood excess: every small action sequence exaggerated beyond belief, villains trying to out-menace each other in increasingly ridiculous ways, CGI overload that makes it look cartoonish.
It’s watchable at 6/10, especially at home where you can fast-forward through the bloated filler sequences. Tabu and Sanjay Mishra provide solid support, and the father-daughter motivation works. But I wish they’d stayed true to the core story instead of inflating everything into video-game absurdity.
An okay watch that could’ve been genuinely good with disciplined editing and restraint. The potential was there; the execution wasn’t.
