Good heavens, a pulse! After the catatonic stupor induced by the recent Tomorrowverse (especially the Crisis trilogy), The Flashpoint Paradox hits like a triple espresso to the central nervous system.

It is a thunderous vindication for the source material, proving that a sprawling comic event needn’t be a five-hour funeral march. The direction possesses a kinetic urgency that makes every second vital, and while the dialogue occasionally wears a tuxedo where a t-shirt would suffice, the sheer momentum is intoxicating.

One might have craved a bit more of the Man of Steel’s plight, yet the visceral action and sinister voice work ensure this remains the gold standard. Brutal, bold, and most importantly, never boring.

8.5/10: An absolute triumph that puts its successors to shame.
