A nice, watchable family movie that doesn’t quite live up to its promising concept. The premise of parents saying yes to everything for 24 hours is genuinely fun, but the film quickly loses steam and becomes predictable. You can see every beat coming from a mile away, and the middle section drags into somewhat boring territory. Jennifer Garner brings her usual charm, but the real standout is Jenna Ortega-it’s fun seeing her here before she became Wednesday, and she’s easily the best part of the film. The positive messages about parenting balance are fine, but delivered heavy-handedly. It’s perfectly adequate for a family movie night when you need something harmless and inoffensive, but don’t expect anything extraordinary. Watchable, forgettable, and firmly mediocre.
