Crew exceeded expectations at 7.5/10 – pure fun elevated by stellar performances.
Tabu and Kareena absolutely own this film, with the third actress (whom I hadn’t seen before) holding her own impressively. The humour walks a delightful line between borderline dark and quirky slapstick, never taking itself too seriously.
Here’s the magic: the acting and brisk pacing make you completely forget how atrociously predictable and unrealistic the plot actually is. You know exactly where it’s going, the heist logic is absurd, but you’re having too much fun to care.
Clever touch: naming the villain Vijay Walia – a cheeky mashup of Kingfisher’s Vijay Mallya and Go Air’s Wadia, both real airlines that went bankrupt. The film knows its references and isn’t subtle about the real-world inspiration.
Light, entertaining, perfectly paced escapism. Sometimes predictable fun with great actors is exactly what you need.
