Ep 4 “Uninvited Guest” is all about the setup – and it’s a damn good one. This episode trades explosive action for simmering tension, and it works.
The pieces are moving into place as all sides – Slough House, MI5, Chieftain, and the rogue Tiger Team – converge on that storage facility. The mini-revelations (Catherine’s empathy for Sean, Tearney’s ruthless “clear the board” order) add layers without overcomplicating the plot.
Gary Oldman’s Lamb is as sharp as ever, and the dynamic between River, Louisa, and Sean crackles with unease. The lack of action here isn’t a flaw… it’s a slow burn, building toward what promises to be a brutal, high-stakes finale.
The stage is set, the players are in position, and the next two episodes look ready to deliver the chaos we’ve been waiting for.
