The Finale Left Us Wanting More (In a Good Way)
IMDb rating: 8/10
Ep 6 “Hello Goodbye” wraps Season 4 with solid action and emotional beats, but the Harkness-River reveal, while well-executed, lacked the punch of Season 3’s finale twists.
The Slough House siege (Marcus’ sacrifice, Shirley’s rage, Lamb’s whisky bottle throw) delivered the tension, and River’s quiet pub scene with Lamb was a perfect character moment. Yet, the sudden blackmail setup and Frank’s escape felt like a direct bridge to Season 5, leaving some arcs unresolved rather than concluded.
7.5/10: A fitting, if rushed, finale – strong on action and heart, but short on the jaw-dropping payoff we’ve seen before in S3.
Still, Season 4 as a whole? 8/10 and consistently gripping, with Lamb, River, and Flyte stealing the show.
On to Season 5 this weekend!
