South Park: S1.E8 Starvin’ Marvin

Hunger, Hypocrisy, and a KFC Bucket

Ep 8 “Starvin’ Marvin” is South Park at its best so far in S1: hilarious, sharp, and fearlessly tackling misconceptions and racist undertones without ever feeling preachy.

The episode’s satire of charity infomercials and Cartman’s selfishness is both absurd and hard-hitting. Marvin’s relentless hunger and the boys’ reactions create some of the season’s biggest laughs, while the social commentary lingers.

8.5/10: balances humour and insight perfectly, proving South Park could be both outrageous and thought-provoking from the start.
