South Park: S2.E1 Terrance and Phillip in Not Without My Anus

A Funny, But Misplaced, Start to Season 2

This one kicks off Season 2 with an episode that’s funny but divisive.

As a standalone Terrance & Phillip adventure, it’s absurd, clever, and packed with the kind of humour fans of the duo love. And it has the intro of Saddam. But as the Season 2 opener, it feels like a misstep – especially after Season 1’s cliffhanger.

Watching it all in order for the first time, the lack of resolution is jarring, and the episode doesn’t deliver the South Park fix fans were craving.

6.5/10: On its own, it’s a 7.5/10 gem, but as a follow-up and season opener, it’s a letdown. Better placement was needed.

Season 1 set a high bar with its bold, unfiltered storytelling, and while this opener stumbles, it reminds us that South Park thrives on taking risks… even when they don’t fully land.
