South Park: S2.E18 Prehistoric Ice Man

Frozen Fun, Final Fizzle

Ep 18 “Prehistoric Ice Man” had moments that felt like classic South Park – the Steve Irwin spoof, the 1996 nostalgia hits, that wild cow gag with Cartman at the end.

But as a season finale, I wanted more punch, more payoff. The satire on cultural lag and friendship drama works in pieces, yet the whole doesn’t quite gel. Stan and Kyle’s back-and-forth feels repetitive, and Larry’s arc, while sincere, doesn’t land as hard as it could.

Still, there’s enough sharp humour and weird energy to keep it engaging.

Season 2 overall? A wild ride… sometimes messy, often brilliant, always unapologetically South Park. This episode closes the chapter solidly, if not spectacularly. 7/10
