Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi

Luke and Rey Can’t Save This From Lackluster Direction

Let’s be real: this is an absolute mess, and it easily takes the crown as the worst movie of the eight I’ve watched so far. The only saving grace here is having Luke Skywalker back on screen and watching his mentorship with Rey unfold.

Beyond that, the whole thing falls completely flat. The story is just a convoluted disaster packed with purposeless plots that go nowhere, and the lackluster direction makes the entire runtime feel like a slog.

Even the action is just okay – nothing spectacular enough to save the film from its own identity crisis. To top it off, Kylo Ren remains an completely underwhelming villain who just can’t carry the threat this franchise needs.

6/10: It’s a frustrating watch that loses the plot of what makes these movies great.
