South Park: S5.E13 Kenny Dies

A Beautiful, Grounded Look at Friendship Without the Usual Silliness

This is much less of a satire and more of a straight-up emotional episode.

I loved how it beautifully showcased the core friendship without the usual silliness. Seeing Cartman desperately trying to find a cure while hiding his true emotions added a surprisingly deep layer to his character.

Of course, it was still hilarious how genuinely shocked and bewildered the boys were when they first heard that Kenny was actually going to die. The episode balances the heavy drama with great, soft funny moments like that poke fun at classic movie tropes on emotional plots.

7.5/10: It is a brilliant, grounded change of pace for the series.
