Keeping Your Chin Up on Daytime TV
I found this episode hilarious right from the opening concept, and the actual execution played out even better. Trey Parker and Matt Stone skewer tabloid talk shows with relentless energy, turning Butters into the ultimate exploited victim.
The writing delivers some of the best lines in the entire series, peaking when Butters earnestly admits that having balls on his chin makes it pretty hard to keep his chin up. Cartman’s chaotic pivot to an out-of-control teen gives the back half endless momentum and massive laughs.
8/10: This is South Park operating at peak satirical absurdity, balancing brilliant dialogue with clever callbacks to old favorites.
