Butters Becomes Gollum for Back Door Sl*ts
I went in with sky-high expectations after last episode, and this absolute masterpiece of a sequel episode completely blew past every single one of them.
It stands as a wildly fun, aggressively dark, and pitch-perfect spoof of The Lord of the Rings that never lets up. Watching sweet little Butters completely snap and devolve into a frantic, Gollum-obsessed creature clutching the tape as his precious had me rolling on the floor. The absolute peak of dark comedy hits right at the end when the utterly clueless parents corner the kids and deliver a painfully explicit, totally unhinged breakdown of the adult movie themselves.
8.5/10: It is a brilliant, fearless piece of television.
