Slow Horses: S5.E6 Scars

Controlled Action, Clever Twists, and a Brilliant Lamb-Whelan Scene

IMDb rating: 8/10

This was comfortably the best episode of the season. It strikes the perfect balance with its action, delivering high tension without ever becoming overwhelming.

The warehouse sequence carries real weight, but it is the script and sharp character moments that truly elevate the finale. The last scene between Lamb and Whelan was especially brilliant… exceptionally well written and directed to capture the grim political maneuvering of MI5.

8.5/10: Good finish, with few clever twists and a solid resolution for the team.

Overall, Season 5 is a solid entry (7/10) that builds a clever political destabilisation plot, though it falls short of Seasons 3 and 4. It started slowly, and struggles with repetitive MI5 tropes and limited Lamb screen time. But the sharp dark humour, strong character arcs, and a thrilling final stretch keep it thoroughly engaging.
