I really enjoyed this episode as the pace picked up significantly, delivering a proper, high-stakes setup for the finale.
Getting more Jackson Lamb scenes was a major plus, especially watching him systematically dismantle the Russian operative alongside Taverner. I also thought the Whelan scenes were handled brilliantly, showing some genuine spine from First Desk as he manages the fallout from the rally disaster.
The narrative threads connecting the Russian destabilisation plot finally click into place, tying together the earlier chaos into a clear threat. Shirley and Standish tracking the gunman to the docks keeps the tension tight, and the warehouse ambush serves up a proper cliffhanger that leaves them completely trapped.
It is a strong 7.5/10 that sets the stage perfectly for what should be an explosive conclusion.
