The IT Crowd: S2.E4 The Dinner Party

Peter File: Pretending to Be Normal and Failing Spectacularly

IMDb rating: 8/10

My jaw is genuinely hurting from laughing so much. This episode is near perfection.

Jen instructing the guys to just “pretend to be normal people” sets up a flawless comedic trap, and watching them fail so spectacularly is brilliant. Moss is really growing on me this season; his deadpan delivery while sipping a White Russian and dropping gems like “memory is RAM” is top-tier. The Moss and Roy “married couple” dynamic is still going incredibly strong, especially when they bicker with Margaret.

Roy’s “Did you think I was talking to you?” bit is great, but the girl beating him with her flawless mimicry of the IT department had me dying. And the “Isn’t that dessert? No, that’s tartar sauce” exchange is just peak absurdity.

8.5/10: Sharp, hilarious, and completely unhinged.
