Old People Are Driving
I keep running into the same problem with this season: Matt and Trey take another completely wacky idea and just execute it superbly.
This time it’s elderly drivers turning South Park into a war zone, followed by a full Red Dawn-style AARP invasion. The dark satire lands hard and the laughs come fast. My two favourite lines still stick with me – Randy yelling “Get off the streets! Old people are driving!” and the perfect explanation that seniors get everything done before anyone else is even awake because they rise so early. Those two moments basically sum up the whole episode.
It’s sharp, it’s mean, and it never lets the absurdity get in the way of the point. I enjoyed every minute of it even while feeling like I’ve said “another wacky idea done right” one too many times already this season.
