Kyle Sees It Coming
I liked the opening of this one. The boys get subjected to that painfully lame Butt Out! Anti-smoking assembly, decide they’d rather smoke than grow up to be like those people, and accidentally burn the school down. That part works.
The meta joke where Kyle keeps trying to stop the usual South Park cycle before it escalates is also pretty sharp… he basically calls out the show’s own formula in real time.
After that, though, it settles into one idea and just keeps hammering it. Rob Reiner shows up, the anti-smoking crusade gets more extreme, and the whole thing starts feeling repetitive and a bit preachy. The political angle felt unnecessary to me and the joke ran out of steam long before the end.
5/10: Decent start and a clever self-aware moment, but the rest really dragged. Not one of the better ones.
