Typical Slow Horses, and Thank Goodness For That
IMDb rating: 8/10
Typical Slow Horses, and I mean that as the highest compliment.
Sayonara is a step up from last week for me: Jackson Lamb is at his sharpest, there’s a good dose of action, and the intrigue keeps tightening nicely. Yes, the assassin thread has stretched a touch longer than I’d have liked, but the payoff here makes it easier to forgive.
The real heart of the hour is Sid and River. Olivia Cooke and Jack Lowden share wonderful chemistry. The airfield scene and River’s phone call are easily the highlights, with the banter and quiet feeling the show does so well.
And honestly, 1-star reviews for this season baffle me. If you’ve made it to Season 6, you already know the humour and the concept.
8/10: Bring on next week, because I can’t wait to see how it all lands.
