A Step Down From the First Two
IMDb rating: 6/10
This is a step down from the first two episodes. The investigation follows the usual procedural beats, but the case itself feels thinner and more predictable this time. I never quite got the same satisfaction from piecing together the clues, and the eventual resolution lacked the impact of the earlier episodes.
My bigger issue is how much attention the show gives to Simone’s murder. I understand that this is the main mystery running through the series, but it is beginning to take up too much space at the expense of the individual cases. The final Pegasus revelation is supposed to pull us in, but it feels like a familiar TV trick rather than a genuinely intriguing discovery.
Richard Armitage remains watchable as Winter, and there is enough here to keep the overall story moving, but this episode doesn’t quite deliver. Hopefully, the next case will bring back the sharper writing of the opener. 6/10.
