Slow Horses Ends Season 6 on a High, and I Hate the Wait to S7
IMDb rating: 8/10
A cracking finale. Over six episodes, Season 6 had the Slow Horses on the run, dragged into Diana Taverner’s dangerous game of revenge and hunted by relentless assassins, and Judgment Day brings it all together with real style.
It mixes action, Jackson Lamb’s scheming and the show’s trademark dark humour in exactly the right measure, and the season’s big threads pay off satisfyingly. Cantor’s outcome is gloriously odd and darkly funny, and it lands perfectly.
8.5/10: It’s classic Slow Horses at its best, tense, funny and clever. That’s why I keep coming back. Lamb is as sharp, grubby and entertaining as ever, and it’s a joy to watch him outthink everyone else in the room.
The ending gives us a hook that makes the wait for Season 7 feel painful, and I hate waiting. I haven’t read Mick Herron’s books, but I hope there are plenty more to turn into TV. Season 6 as a whole is an 8/10 for me, a clear step up from Season 5.
