The Capture: S2.E2 Made in China

When Even Live TV Cannot Be Trusted

IMDb rating: 8/10

What I really like about The Capture is how it keeps raising the stakes. The first season showed how easily CCTV footage could be manipulated, but this episode takes that idea to a whole new level by bringing deepfakes into live television. If even a minister’s televised interview can be fabricated, the implications are frightening, and the whole idea of trusting what we see becomes much more complicated.

I also like how the story connects this technology to political pressure, international tensions and national security, making the conspiracy feel much bigger than a straightforward criminal investigation. The episode builds effectively on the opener, expanding the scope of the mystery and making me even more curious about who is really behind it.

8/10: This is the sort of high-concept thriller that keeps me hooked because its central idea has such disturbing possibilities.
