Only This Town Could Mock Ritalin So Brilliantly
I love how only this show could take a massive issue like ADHD excesses in the school system and turn it into something so brilliantly funny.
The satire cuts deep against over-medicating kids, especially when the whole town ends up in a zombie-like Ritalin stupor just to get out of doing homework. Turning the new kid, Timmy, into an overnight nu-metal rock star is absolute genius.
For me, the relentless takedown of Phil Collins felt a wee bit harsh, but the sheer absurdity of him sabotaging a kid’s garage band still made me laugh out loud.
7.5/10: It is a fantastic, incredibly bold episode that holds up perfectly.
