Thirteen Years of Simpsons Predictions
What a solid, brilliantly meta episode. Watching Butters snap and scream about The Simpsons having done everything after thirteen years on air is easily one of the most relatable and hilarious moments in the show.
The sea people storyline steals the show, turning a simple aquarium experiment into a hyper-evolving civilization that comically destroys itself after the boys add their own “seamen” to the mix. Even the absurdly dark side plot with Cartman hiding inside Ms. Choksondik’s post-mortem body was yuckily funny in classic South Park fashion.
8.5/10: The writing strikes a perfect balance between sharp pop-culture commentary and gross-out humour.
