Wasted Potential

Cupertino: S1.E4 A.J. & Buddy still

This episode started with massive potential. The premise hooked me immediately. Christy boarding that private jet set up a brilliant, high-stakes legal battle.

But then the writers split Michael and Olivia. That choice dragged the momentum down. Instead of sharp, strategic lawyering, I got a rushed, slapstick race down courthouse hallways. It felt like a cheap sitcom gimmick. The show wasted its own clever setup.

The selective prosecution angle offered real teeth. The election interference twist added genuine weight. Yet, the execution stumbled. I wanted to see these partners outsmart the system together. Instead, they ran in opposite directions. The subplot with Natalia and Nichole provided a nice breather, but it could not save the main plot from feeling disjointed.

The show still delivers fun moments. The final champagne toast landed well. But this episode proves the writers need to trust their core dynamic. Keep them in the same room. Let them fight as a team. That is where the real magic happens.
