Ep 2 keeps the show stuck in second gear, delivering another shift with very few actual laughs and way too much reliance on annoying tropes. Watching the staff deal with a table of unbearable high school drama kids makes for more irritation than entertainment, making it hard to stay invested.
The storyline takes a completely bizarre turn near the end that manages to squeeze out a couple of decent chuckles, but it barely saves the runtime. There is still a tiny kernel of potential hidden beneath all the awkward noise, but the writing needs to step up its game fast.
5/10: I’m willing to give it one more episode to pull itself together, but patience is running thin.
