After two episodes and two hours, Nocturne sits at a solid but unremarkable 5.5/10 for me.
The big draw is the cast. Liev Schreiber and Stephen Graham deliver exactly what you’d hope for… quiet, heavy, and believable. Their presence keeps you watching even when the story itself feels thin. Zazie Beetz is strong too.
The problem is pace and payoff. Both hours lean hard on mood and dangling questions without enough forward drive. Scenes stretch longer than they need to, and the suspense stays at a constant low hum instead of building into something sharper.
It feels like the show is still arranging the furniture rather than making you care about what’s happening in the room. I’m not checked out, mainly because of those three leads. But right now the series is more promising on paper than gripping in practice.
If the remaining episodes tighten up and give the story more urgency, it could climb. At this stage it just hasn’t earned more than a middle-of-the-road score.
