This hour overstayed its welcome. I keep learning the same lesson: this show works best in tight 45-minute packages, and the moment it stretches, someone pads the runtime.
Long, circular conversations that circle one idea. A romance wedged into an active case. Comedy bits that belong in a different series. I checked the clock more than once, and a thriller should never make me do that.
And yet the ending nearly redeemed the whole slog. The final pivot reshapes everything I thought I knew about the season’s mystery… it’s a genuinely clever idea that ties the past to the present, and I admire the nerve of it. That reveal is the reason I’m still watching this show, and the writers clearly know it.
So here’s my plea: keep the ambition, cut the filler. The destination rewards the trip; the trip doesn’t need to be this long.
5.5/10.
