Ep 5 maintains the show’s upward momentum, even if it does not quite reach the peak slapstick heights of the previous shift.
Lockers full of confiscated phones set up a solid premise, but the real comedic juice comes from Aidan’s ridiculous premature-baldness panic and the laugh-out-loud twist involving a girlfriend named “John”!!!
There is a surprisingly sweet layer of character tension simmering underneath the pizza grease, especially with Julia caught in Tommy’s fake-dating mess. The emotional beats feel a little rushed and unfinished, but the crew’s chemistry is clearly locking into place.
