Another good episode, but I am really getting tired of Maeve, who hogs the first half again with unexplained nonsense. Once that section clears, the second half is great – solid action and strategy, well directed and acted.
The Frankie-Paul scene was good, but the casino sequence was the best and a genuine blowout set-piece. Hardy and Flynn finally go head-to-head with real tension and calculated risk, and the direction keeps everything sharp.
The episode builds properly once it stops circling Maeve’s latest tests and gets into the actual war. Strong craft in the back half carries it, even if the opening still feels like the show spinning its wheels on the same character.
Overall a solid 7.5 that delivers when it matters.
