Nocturne opened with a solid cast and a clear sense of dread, but Ep 1 left me more curious than gripped.
Liev Schreiber brings a quiet, heavy presence as the retired detective, while Stephen Graham is magnetic even when barely moving. The two of them are the main reason I stayed locked in. Their scenes carry real weight and promise something sharper ahead.
Still, the hour mostly sets pieces on the board. It dangles tension and hints at bigger threats without fully landing an emotional hook or a moment that forces you to lean forward. The mood is dark and the setup is clean, yet it feels like the show is still warming up rather than pulling you under.
6/10: I’m interested enough to continue, mainly for those two performances, but this didn’t quite grab me the way I hoped.
